Former Danity Kane Member Grateful for DOJ Charges, Attorney Says

From CNN's Kara Scannell

An attorney representing Dawn Richard, a former member of the music group Danity Kane created by Sean “Diddy” Combs, told CNN that his client is "grateful the DOJ has decided to pursue" charges against Combs and is looking forward to a fair trial.

Richard has filed a civil lawsuit in New York federal court accusing Combs of sexual battery, sexual harassment, and false imprisonment, among other claims. Her attorney, Arick Fudali, emphasized that Richard’s primary goal is to see the truth come to light.

“It’s been a stressful and difficult experience for her,” Fudali said. “She has faced a lot of ridicule, but the DOJ’s indictment has been very encouraging.”

Fudali also noted that the indictment aligns closely with the allegations made in their civil lawsuit. “It’s reassuring to see similarities between the indictment and our claims, such as sex trafficking and forced labor,” he said.

While Fudali did not comment on whether Richard would testify in the federal case, he affirmed that neither she nor her legal team will be intimidated by the ongoing proceedings.

Combs Still a Flight Risk, Prosecutors Argue

From CNN's Elise Hammond

Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is attempting to sell his Los Angeles house and private plane, is still considered a flight risk by federal prosecutors, according to their latest filing.

Prosecutors have highlighted Combs' access to numerous bank accounts, both personal and corporate, with substantial funds, as well as his ownership of a personal plane and multiple vehicles in different locations. They argue that Combs’ extensive resources pose a significant flight risk, even though his defense attorneys hold his passport and those of several family members.

Combs’ defense team has proposed home detention with a $50 million bond secured by his Miami residence. However, prosecutors contend that this arrangement is "plainly insufficient" given Combs' financial capabilities and assets.
